SINGULAR FESTIVAL

Residency and exhibition at Fábrica da Criatividade, Castelo Branco, October 2023 - January 2024

SINGULAR is a season of interdisciplinary artistic practice devised by Terceira Pessoa. Its programme is characterised by the meeting of various artistic disciplines and consists of artistic works that resist superficial attempts at categorisation.

The season takes place in the Fábrica da Criatividade de Castelo Branco – a new space dedicated to artistic practice and cultural projects, where practitioners from different disciplines of art and performance can come together and collaborate. As such, the programme has a strong urban, contemporary and experimental component. Using a unique and SINGULAR approach, the season promotes experimentation as an expression of creative and critical freedom, and as a tool that enables innovative ways of thinking, both individually and as a group.

SINGULAR takes place during the final three months of the year, with work being presented every month. A total of 7 pieces will be presented per season.

Presentation of the "Newtons" sculpture, a project developed specifically for the Singular Festival. 

The “Newtons” sculpture is a pixelated skull, covered in plastic cubes manually recycled from useless plastic.
The project aims to establish a dialogue between the human skull (a symbol of the ephemerality and impermanence of the human being) and plastic (a symbol of the Anthropocene and the concern that human beings have with their impact on the planet).
